How to reset the controllers of the Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise?

The controllers of the Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise play a crucial role in interacting with the VR environment. If you experience issues such as unresponsiveness, frequent disconnections, or tracking errors, a reset may be required. Here are different methods to reset your controllers and restore optimal functionality.

1. Resetting the controller

If a button is unresponsive or the virtual controller is not working, try a simple restart:

  1. Remove the battery cover
    1. Open the battery compartment on the controller.
    2. Remove the batteries and wait a few seconds.
    3. Reinsert the batteries and close the compartment.
  2. Check the reconnection
    1. Turn on your VR headset.
    2. Check if the controller is automatically detected.
    3. If it does not appear, proceed with the manual pairing method described below.

2. Reconnecting an unpaired controller

If the controller does not connect automatically after restarting, you need to pair it manually:

  1. Access the settings
    1. Go to Settings > Controller.
    2. Click on Pair a new controller.
  2. Enable pairing mode
    1. Press and hold the Home button and the Trigger button simultaneously.
    2. Keep them pressed until the LED indicators flash red and blue alternately.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.

3. Disconnecting and turning off the controllers

The Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise controllers may enter sleep mode or disconnect automatically in the following cases:

  • When the headset enters standby mode (shortly after removing it).
  • When the controller is not paired or has not been used for a long time.
  • When the headset is turned off.

To manually turn off a controller:

  1. Press and hold the Home button on the controller.
  2. Wait until the status light turns red and a vibration occurs.
  3. The controller will completely shut down.

4. Performing a full reset of the headset and controllers

If the issue persists after resetting the controllers, you can reset the entire system:

  • Restarting the headset: If the screen is frozen or the headset becomes unresponsive, press and hold the Power button for more than 10 seconds to force a reboot.
  • Factory reset (full reset): Navigate to Settings > General > Factory Reset, then confirm the reset. Warning, this action erases all data from the headset.

A factory reset also resets the controllers, which can help resolve persistent connection issues.

The Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise controllers can be reset in several ways, depending on the issue. The simplest method is to remove and reinsert the batteries, while manual pairing is required for persistent disconnections. If problems persist, a headset reset may be necessary.
