How to adjust the IPD on the Pico G3?

IPD (interpupillary distance) refers to the space between the centers of your pupils. A proper IPD setting ensures a sharp image and optimal visual comfort in virtual reality.

1. IPD system on the Pico G3

The Pico G3 offers three predefined IPD positions:

  • 58 mm, 63.5 mm (default), and 69 mm
  • 63.5 mm is set by default as it suits most users

Unlike other VR headsets, the Pico G3’s IPD is manually and mechanically adjustable by moving the lenses inside the headset—limited to these fixed steps.

2. How to adjust the IPD

To set the correct interpupillary distance:

  1. Put on the headset and look straight ahead
  2. Use both hands to grab the lens dials on top of the lenses
  3. Slide the lenses left or right to align the scale indicator with the reference line:
    • Aligned = 63.5 mm
    • Left of the white line = 58 mm
    • Right of the white line = 69 mm

A good adjustment centers the image and helps reduce eye strain.

3. Tips for special cases

If your natural IPD is far from the preset values:

  • Visual comfort may be slightly affected
  • Adjusting the headset position on your face may improve image clarity
  • For highly specific needs, consider a headset with continuous IPD adjustment

The Pico G3 allows manual IPD adjustment between three fixed positions, covering most users. A precise lens setting ensures sharp visuals and helps prevent fatigue during long sessions.
