How to set your play boundary to use the Meta Quest 3S safely?

The Meta Quest 3S lets you enjoy full immersion in your XR content while staying aware of your real-world environment. To ensure safe use, it’s essential to properly set up your play boundary by using the Guardian boundary system.

1. Choose the boundary mode that suits your space

1. Turn on your Meta Quest 3S headset.
2. Press the Meta button and select “Boundary.”
3. Click “Adjust Boundary.”
4. Select the boundary mode:
   • Stationary mode: suitable for use while sitting or standing in a confined space (1 m x 1 m area).
   • Roomscale mode: recommended for an open space of at least 2 m x 2 m allowing for movement.

2. Set or adjust your Guardian boundary

1. Press the Meta button on the right controller to open the universal menu.
2. Click on the clock, battery, and Wi-Fi icon to access “ Quick Settings.
3. Open Settings
4. Select “Environment Setup”, then “Limit”.
5. Choose “Create New Boundary” or “Adjust Boundary”.
6. Use your controllers to trace the outline of your safe space by following the on-screen instructions.

3. Customize your boundary settings

1. Change the boundary appearance: adjust the color for better visibility.
2. Adjust sensitivity:
   • Enable alerts when nearing the edge.
   • Use advanced mode to set precise thresholds (distance, speed, sensitivity).

4. Reset or delete your boundary if needed

1. Go back to Quick Settings > Environment Setup > Boundary.
2. Click on “Clear boundary history” to reset saved settings.
3. Redefine your boundary based on your new play space.
