How to reset your Vive XR Elite to factory settings?

Factory resetting the Vive XR Elite restores the headset to its original state. This process deletes all data, apps, and settings, which can be useful in case of technical issues, before reselling the device, or to start with a clean configuration.

1. Reset the headset from the settings

1. Open the main menu, then go to Settings.
2. Go to Advanced, then select Reset.
3. Select Factory Reset and confirm the operation.

The headset will restart automatically and erase all data.

2. Reset the headset if you encounter a problem

If you cannot access the settings:

1. Turn off the headset via the power menu or by holding down the battery button for 5 seconds.
2. Hold down the volume down button.
3. Turn on the device by pressing the battery button while holding down the volume down button.
4. Release the volume down button when the message “download mode is displayed” appears on the screen.
5. Press the left side button to select and the volume buttons to navigate.
6. Select factory reset.
