Can you customize the Meta Quest 3S interface?

The Meta Quest 3S interface offers several customization options to adapt the virtual environment to your preferences, though it’s not as customizable as a traditional OS. Here’s what you can modify.

1. Change the home environment

The Meta Quest 3S allows you to change the virtual environment you are in when you are in the main menu:

1. Place yourself directly in the immersive environment.
2. Press the “menu” button on your left controller
3. Choose from several available environments (e.g., Horizon, Cyber City, Desert, Modern Studio, etc.).
4. The change is applied immediately and can be modified at any time.

Some environments require prior download.

2. Reorganize your apps

You can organize your apps for quicker access:

• Open the Apps menu from the main interface.
• Use filters or sorting (e.g. recent, alphabetical, installed).
• Add shortcuts to your dock or create a custom menu if your software version allows it.

3. Enable or disable accessibility options

To adapt the interface to your needs, go to Settings > Accessibility:

• Enable High Visibility mode to improve contrast.
• Adjust the text size if available.
• Use Voice Commands for voice navigation (currently English only).

4. Change audio theme and notifications

In Settings > System > Sound, you can:

• Adjust volume levels separately (system, media, microphone).
• Enable or disable system sounds (clicks, alerts…).
• Choose whether to display notifications during app use.

5. Use advanced options with SideQuest (optional)

If you’re comfortable with third-party tools, SideQuest allows for deeper customization:

• Install alternative launchers.
• Change wallpapers or UI elements.
• Add custom shortcuts.
