How to uninstall apps on the Meta Quest 3S?

To free up storage or clean up your content, uninstalling apps on the Meta Quest 3S is simple. This can be done directly from the headset or via the companion mobile app.

1. Uninstall an app from the headset

From the Meta Quest 3S interface:

1. Press the Metabutton (right controller) to open the universal menu.
2. Go to “Library” to view all installed apps.
3. Find the app you want to remove.
4. Point at it, then press the three vertical dots (…) or hold the selection.
5. Select “Uninstall” from the context menu.
6. Confirm the deletion when prompted by the system.

The app will be removed instantly but can be reinstalled anytime from the Meta Horizon Store at no cost if previously purchased.

2. Uninstall via the Meta Horizon mobile app

From your smartphone:

1. Open the Meta Horizon app.
2. Go to Menu > Devices.
3. Select your Meta Quest 3S.
4. Go to the “Installed apps” section.
5. Tap the app you want to remove, then select “Uninstall”.

This method is useful if you manage your headset remotely or cannot access the VR interface.

3. Manually delete related files (optional)

Some apps leave behind residual data:

1. Connect the headset to a PC via USB-C.
2. Enable file access if prompted in the headset.
3. Delete leftover folders under Android > data or Meta > Applications if needed (use with caution).

This can help free up a few extra megabytes, especially after uninstalling large VR apps.

4. Reinstall apps anytime

You can access all your purchased apps from the Meta Horizon Store:

1. Open the Store from the headset or mobile app.
2. Go to the “Your apps” or “Purchases” tab.
3. Select the removed app and tap “Install”.

No purchase data is lost, but local saves may be deleted if they weren’t backed up to the cloud.
