How to maintain Vive Focus Vision?

Regular maintenance of the Vive Focus Vision helps extend its lifespan and ensures an optimal VR experience. Here are best practices for cleaning and disinfecting your headset.

1. Clean and disinfect the headset and controllers

  • Use a damp cloth with a diluted alcohol solution (70–75% ethanol) to clean headset and controller surfaces, especially frequently touched areas.
  • Faux leather face cushions can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
  • UVC sanitizers are recommended for effective disinfection, but be sure to cover the lenses to avoid UV discoloration (not covered by warranty).
  • Before using the headset again, make sure all disinfectant is gone to avoid skin irritation.

Important: Do not

  • Spray liquid directly on the headset or controllers.
  • Use any liquid solutions on the lenses.
  • Expose the headset to direct sunlight, which may damage the optics or display.
  • Machine wash the headset or accessories under any program.

2. Clean the headset lenses

  • Use a clean, dry cloth like the one provided with the headset.
  • Wipe in circular motions from the center outward to avoid smudging.
  • Never apply liquid directly to the lenses.
