What do the different LED lights on the Vive XR Elite mean?

The LED lights on the Vive XR Elite allow you to quickly identify the status of the headset and its accessories. In particular, they indicate whether the headset is powered on, charging, or booting up. Here are the main meanings.

1. Headset LED

• Solid white: The headset is powered on and the attached battery pack or connected power source is fully charged.
• Flashing white:

    • The system software on the headset is updating.
    • The headset is pairing with Vive Manager.
    • Vive Business+ is identifying the headset.
• Pulsing white: The headset display is off or in sleep mode.
• Red: The headset is overheating or malfunctioning.
• Pulsing red: Passthrough mode is enabled, Passthrough recording is in progress, or the headset is streaming content.
• Off: The headset is turned off.

2. Battery pack LED

• Flashing red: The battery level is low, below 15%.
• Red: The battery is charging.
• White: The battery is fully charged.

3. Controller LEDs

• Solid orange: The controller is charging.
• Flashing blue: The controller is in pairing mode.
• Solid blue: The controller is connecting.
• Flashing blue and orange: The controller is connecting to the headset while charging.
• Flashing blue and red: The controller firmware is being updated.
• Solid green: The controller is connected to the headset.
• Flashing red: The battery level is low, below 15%.
• Off: The controller is inactive.
