Is the Pico Neo 3 Enterprise/Pro (Eye) compatible with Wi-Fi 7?

The Pico Neo 3 features Wi-Fi connectivity suitable for professional use, including downloading applications, system updates, and using online content. However, not all Wi-Fi standards are supported by this model.

1. Wi-Fi compatibility of the Pico Neo 3

No, the Pico Neo 3 is not compatible with Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be).

The headset is compatible with:

  • Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax).
  • Earlier standards such as Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and earlier.

This compatibility depends directly on the hardware platform built into the headset.

2. Why Wi-Fi 7 is not supported

The Pico Neo 3 is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor, which includes a network chip that is compatible with Wi-Fi 6, but not Wi-Fi 7.

Wi-Fi 7 is a newer standard that appeared after the headset was designed. It requires specific hardware that is not present on this model. A software update cannot therefore add this compatibility.

3. Impact on headset use

The absence of Wi-Fi 7 does not have a blocking impact on common uses:

  • Downloading applications.
  • System updates.
  • Streaming content.
  • Connected professional uses.

Wi-Fi 6 already offers high speeds, low latency, and sufficient stability for VR uses with the Pico Neo 3.

The Pico Neo 3 is not compatible with Wi-Fi 7, but it does support Wi-Fi 6, which is fully adapted to current professional virtual reality needs. This limitation is related to the integrated hardware and cannot be changed by a software update.
