How to pair controllers with the Meta Quest 3S?

The Meta Quest 3S comes with two controllers designed to provide smooth and precise interaction during your XR experiences. To ensure they work properly, it’s important to check their connection during the initial setup and know how to pair them manually if needed.

1. Check controller connection during initial setup

1. To turn on the headset, press and hold the power button on the right side until the Meta logo appears.
2. Open the battery compartment of each Touch Plus controller and insert one AA battery (follow polarity), or remove the protective battery tabs.
3. On first use, the headset should automatically detect the controllers.

2. Manually re-pair the controllers if needed

If the controllers are not detected or there are connection issues:

1. From the main menu, select “Settings”.
2. In the settings menu, choose “Devices”.
3. Select “Controllers”. You’ll see a list of connected controllers.
4. Choose “Pair new controller” and follow the on-screen instructions to manually pair the left or right controller.

3. Replace batteries if controllers are unresponsive

1. Open each controller’s battery compartment and remove the batteries.
2. Leave the compartments open for about 10 seconds.
3. Place fresh AA batteries into each controller, respecting polarity.
4. They should turn on automatically and reconnect to the headset.
