How to install an app on the Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise?

To install an application on your Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise, several methods are available depending on your professional needs. Here is a detailed guide to help you through this process:

1. Installation via the Pico Business Store

The Pico Business Store offers a selection of applications tailored to professional environments.

  1. Accessing the Pico Business Store: Turn on your headset and ensure it is connected to the internet. From the home screen, select the Pico Business Store icon.
  2. Searching for and installing an application:
    1. Browse the categories or use the search function to find the desired application.
    2. Once selected, click on the button indicating “Free” or displaying the price of the application.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the download and installation.

2. Installation of custom apps (sideloading)

For internal or specific apps not available on the Pico Store, sideloading is a suitable solution.

Prerequisites:

  • APK file of the app to install.
  • A computer and USB-C cable.

Steps to follow:

  1. Transfer the APK file:
    1. Connect your headset to the computer using the USB-C cable.
    2. On the headset, enable USB Debugging in Developer Options and select File Transfer as the USB connection mode.
    3. On your computer, the headset will appear as an external storage device. Copy the APK file into a folder on the headset.
  2. Install the application:
    1. Disconnect the headset from the computer.
    2. In the headset, use a file manager to locate the transferred APK file.
    3. Select the file and follow the prompts to install.

3. Using the Pico Business Suite

The Pico Business Suite simplifies the management and installation of applications across multiple headsets within an organization.

  • Installing Pico Business Suite:
    • On your computer: Download and install Pico Business Suite from Pico’s official website.
    • On the headset: Pico Business Suite is installed by default on Enterprise-version devices.
  • Deploying applications:
    1. Connect your headset and computer to the same Wi-Fi network.
    2. Open Pico Business Suite on your computer and log in with your Pico Business account.
    3. Add your headset to the device list.
    4. Use the Solutions menu to create a content package (apps/videos/images/files/websites).
    5. Once the synchronization solution is created, deploy it to headsets connected to Pico Business Suite.

You can create only one solution per type:

  • 1 synchronization solution: simultaneous launching of applications / videos / images / files / websites.
  • 1 kiosk mode solution: deploys a single video content on headsets, locking users into this content.

Additional tips:

  • Application updates: Apps installed via Pico Store are updated automatically. For manually installed apps, regularly check for updates with the app provider and reinstall if needed.
  • Managing permissions: After installation, ensure you configure the appropriate permissions for each application by navigating to Settings > Application Manager in your headset.

By following these methods, you will efficiently install applications on your Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise, whether they originate from the Pico Store or from internal sources within your organization.
