How to check available storage on the Meta Quest 3S?

On the Meta Quest 3S, it’s essential to check the remaining storage space to efficiently manage apps, games, videos, and media files. The headset does not support SD cards, so careful internal memory management is recommended.

1. Go to the headset settings

To check available storage:

  1. Turn on your Meta Quest 3S and open the universal menu (bottom bar).
  2. Select the Settings” icon (gear symbol).
  3. Go to the General” section.
  4. Then tap on Storage”.

You will see an overview of the used memory and free space.

2. Review content by category

The Storage menu shows a breakdown by category:

  • Apps: games, software, downloaded environments.
  • Media: video recordings, 360° photos, voice recordings.
  • Other files: system elements, app data, manuals.
  • Free: remaining usable space.

This helps you identify what uses the most storage space.

3. Delete unnecessary files if needed

If free space is low, you can:

  • Remove unused games or apps from the Library” menu.
  • Delete videos or screenshots from the Gallery” or Files” app.
  • Use a USB-C connected PC to manually transfer or delete files from the Oculus > VideoShots, Screenshots or Downloads folders.

4. Mind the storage limits

The Meta Quest 3S comes in various capacities (128 GB, 256 GB or more), with no SD card support. It’s important to regularly monitor your usage, especially with large games like Asgard’s Wrath 2 or Population: One.

To check available memory on your Meta Quest 3S, go to Settings > System > Storage. A detailed view shows how space is used, and helps optimize storage by removing non-essential content.
