How to set up the Pico Neo 3 Enterprise/Pro (Eye) for the first time?

The initial setup of the Pico Neo 3 allows you to prepare the headset, secure the space in which it will be used, and access Pico services from the moment you first turn it on. This step is essential to ensure an optimal experience.

1. Prepare the headset and environment

Before starting up the Pico Neo 3, make sure the space around you is clear to avoid any obstacles during use. Remove the protective films from the headset’s lenses and cameras. Then insert the batteries into the controllers after removing the safety tabs, and charge the headset using the supplied USB-C cable to ensure sufficient battery power.

2. Turn on the headset and controllers

  1. Press and hold the power button on the headset for a few seconds until the screen turns on.
  2. Turn on each controller by pressing the Pico button so that they automatically connect to the headset.

3. Start the initial setup

When you start up for the first time, a setup wizard will appear directly in the headset.

  1. Select the language and follow the instructions on the screen.
  2. Choose the type of usage area, either stationary or free mode.
  3. Define the safety zone by following the instructions, then calibrate the floor level to adjust the virtual height correctly.

4. Connect the Pico Neo 3 to a Wi-Fi network

  1. Open Settings from the headset menu and go to WLAN.
  2. Select the desired Wi-Fi network.
  3. Enter the password to activate the internet connection, which is necessary for updates and downloading applications.

5. Log in to a Pico account

  1. Log in with an existing Pico account or create a new one directly from the headset.
  2. Validate your account using the requested information, usually an email address and a verification code.

This step is essential for accessing the Pico Store and online services.

6. Access the main menu and install content

Once setup is complete, you will be taken to the Pico Neo 3 main menu. You can then open the Pico Store, browse the available apps, and install the content that suits your needs.

The initial setup of the Pico Neo 3 involves several key steps: preparing the hardware, starting up the headset, defining the safety zone, connecting to Wi-Fi, and linking to a Pico account. Once these settings have been configured, the headset is ready for use in a stable and secure VR environment.
