How to view 360° photos on the Meta Quest 3S

The Meta Quest 3S lets you explore immersive 360° photos directly from its interface. You can use the built-in Gallery app, third-party players, or online services to enjoy a fully panoramic experience.

1. Transfer your 360° photos to the headset

Before viewing, start by importing the images into the headset:

1. Connect the Meta Quest 3S to a computer via a USB-C cable.
2. Allow file access from the headset if prompted.
3. Copy your 360° image files (JPG, PNG or similar) to the “Pictures” or “360Photos” folder on the headset.

Alternatively, you can use Meta Quest Link, Air Link, or compatible cloud services (such as Google Drive through the built-in browser).

2. Open the Gallery app

From the Meta Quest 3S main interface:

1. Go to your app library.
2. Launch “Gallery” (or “Files”, depending on the software version).
3. Browse the folders to find your transferred photos.

If the image is detected as panoramic, a 360° viewing mode is automatically offered.

3. Use a specialized viewer if needed

For better compatibility or additional features (zoom, manual rotation, stereoscopic view), you can use third-party apps like:

• Skybox VR: supports both 360° images and videos, with a smooth interface and advanced options.
• Pigasus VR Media Player: allows browsing network folders or cloud services.
• VRTV VR Video Player: mainly for videos but also supports panoramic images.

These players are available on the Meta Horizon Store.

4. Check supported formats

The Meta Quest 3S supports standard formats for monoscopic and stereoscopic panoramic photos:

• Monoscopic: standard equirectangular format (2:1, e.g., 4096×2048).
• Stereoscopic: files with double image or specific suffixes (_LR, _TB).

It’s best to use high-resolution images that are not too heavy to avoid excessive loading times.
