Does hand tracking on the Pico Neo 3 Enterprise/Pro (Eye) work with all VR applications?

Hand tracking, which allows you to interact without controllers, is not supported by the Pico Neo 3, regardless of the version: Enterprise, Pro, or Pro Eye.

1. No hand tracking on the Pico Neo 3

The Pico Neo 3 does not have the sensors and technology required for hand tracking. Therefore:

  • No hand tracking functionality is available at the system level.
  • No VR application can use hand tracking on this headset.
  • Interaction is based exclusively on the 6DoF controllers supplied with the headset.

There is therefore no distinction between compatible and incompatible applications, as the feature does not exist on this model.

2. Why some applications mention hand tracking

Some VR applications indicate that they are compatible with hand tracking, but this compatibility depends on the headset used.

On the Pico Neo 3:

  • These applications will only work in controller mode.
  • Hand tracking features will automatically be unavailable.

This is due to the hardware limitations of the headset and is not a configuration or software issue.

3. Possible interaction on the Pico Neo 3

On the Pico Neo 3, interaction is only possible via:

  • 6DoF controllers.
  • The headset’s inside-out tracking for movement and orientation.

Hand tracking is reserved for other, newer VR headsets or those specifically equipped for this feature.

Hand tracking does not work with any VR applications on the Pico Neo 3, as the headset does not support hand tracking. All VR interactions are performed exclusively using 6DoF controllers, regardless of the application used.
