How to reset the Pico G3 controller?

If the Pico G3 controller shows connection issues or behaves abnormally, you can reset it to restore proper functionality.

1. Restart the controller

Before a full reset:

  • Remove the battery from the controller.
  • Wait a few seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery and briefly press the Home button to turn the controller back on.

A simple restart often fixes minor connection or performance issues.

2. Reset the controller

If restarting is not enough:

  • Press and hold the Home button, Trigger, and Trackpad at the same time.
  • Hold all three for about 10 seconds until the LED indicator changes state.
  • The controller will enter pairing mode.

You can then re-pair the controller by following the steps under Settings > Controller on the Pico G3.

3. Reset pairing via the headset

As an additional step:

  • Go to the Main Menu > Settings > Controller.
  • Select Unpair to remove the current connection.
  • Start the pairing process again using the controller reset method.

This helps resolve persistent connection issues between the headset and controller.

4. Check battery status

Low battery can also cause malfunctions:

  • Use a fresh alkaline AA battery (1.5 V) as recommended by Pico.
  • Replace the battery if the controller disconnects often or the LED blinks rapidly in blue.

Resetting the Pico G3 controller is quick and easy with a specific button combination. For persistent issues, a restart, manual pairing, and a fresh battery usually restore normal operation.
