How to adjust the Pico G3 headset?

Properly adjusting the headset is essential for comfort, image clarity, and stability when using the Pico G3. Here’s a step-by-step guide.

1. Adjust the head strap

  1. Put the headset on your head.
  2. Tighten or loosen the top strap to adjust the height and ensure a good frontal fit.
  3. Then adjust the rear strap for a firm but comfortable fit around your head.

The headset should be secure without putting pressure on your forehead or the back of your head.

2. Properly position the screen

  1. Adjust the headset up or down on your face.
  2. Find the optimal angle where the display is crisp without eye strain.
  3. Ensure the foam padding rests comfortably on your forehead and cheeks.

3. Adjust the interpupillary distance (IPD)

The Pico G3 supports three predefined IPD positions: 58 mm, 63.5 mm, and 69 mm.

If you experience double vision or strabismus, adjust the lenses to match your own IPD for optimal visual comfort.

To adjust IPD:

  1. Wear the headset and look straight through the lenses.
  2. With both hands, hold the upper-middle part of each lens barrel.
  3. Slide the lenses left or right to align them using the visual markers.

The scale on the lens barrel helps guide the adjustment:

  • Aligned with the white center line: 63.5 mm (default).
  • Left of the line: 58 mm.
  • Right of the line: 69 mm.

Correct IPD adjustment improves image sharpness and reduces eye strain.

4. Wearing glasses with the headset

  1. Put your glasses on first.
  2. Then gently put on the headset, adjusting the straps to avoid pressing the frame.
  3. Make sure your glasses don’t touch the headset lenses.

Proper adjustment of the Pico G3 includes strap positioning, screen alignment, and accommodation for glasses if needed. A well-fitted headset ensures better comfort and enhances the VR experience.
