How to configure your play area boundary to use the Pico Neo 3 Enterprise/Pro (Eye) safely?

Configuring the play area, also known as the safety boundary (Guardian), allows you to define a safe space for using the Pico Neo 3 without the risk of colliding with objects or people. This step is essential to ensure comfortable and safe use, whether sitting or standing.

1. Access the play area settings

  1. Turn on your Pico Neo 3 and access the main menu.
  2. Open Settings, then go to the “General” section.
  3. Select the “Play Area” category and press “Configure Play Area.”

2. Choose the type of play area

The headset offers two types of play areas:

  1. Fixed area: recommended for use in a stationary position.
  2. Custom area: suitable for use when moving around the room.

Select the mode that corresponds to your use before continuing with the configuration.

3. Define the boundaries of the play area

  • For the custom area, follow the instructions displayed in the headset and move around the available space to draw the virtual boundaries.
  • For the fixed area, position yourself in the desired location and confirm the area proposed by the system.

The headset will then record the contours of your play area.

4. Adjust and confirm the safety settings

Once the area has been defined, check that the boundaries are displayed correctly when you approach them. You can modify or recreate the area at any time from the settings if the environment changes.

Configuring the play area boundary on the Pico Neo 3 involves a few simple steps: choosing the mode of use, defining the space, calibrating the floor, and confirming the safety settings. A properly configured area allows you to use the headset safely and improves comfort during virtual reality sessions.
